We'll start off with the scientists of the Caldari world. This is a pretty clear choice if you're wanting the technology path - good Intelligence and Memory, the best traits for learning the various technology path trees, as well as starting off with Engineering.
The Deteis, still being Caldari, aren't as horrible in combat as some of the other science geared bloodlines, so you have a good chance of defending yourself a little better while you're out mining and trading.
