By now you've looked at the map and seen just how big the universe of EVE really is. It's huge. It also needs to be because unlike many other MMOs, EVE is not split up into shards or servers.
Instead, everyone who plays EVE (well basically, there are other servers out there but they are for testing and possible future expansions in other countries, etc) is on the same version of the same game, ie the same server. The hugeness of space presents some problems.
First, it is likely that you will play for months and even years without ever seeing many areas of space. Second, any comprehensive list of everything in space would be so large as to be unmanageable.
